Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Wells, Maine. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The Town of Wells is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: Merriland River Bridge - Bragdon Road over Merriland River The project is located on Bragdon Road in the Town of Wells, Maine, 0.3 miles southwest of the intersection with Sanford Road (Route 109). The project begins approximately 155 feet southwest of MaineDOT Bridge No 6492 and continues northwest through the bridge approximately 280 feet. The project consists of removal and replacement of an existing corrugated metal pipe (CMP) arch spanning the Merriland River with a precast concrete three-sided rigid frame founded on precast footings. At the structure, the channel with have a natural stream bed with riprap channel protection along the banks. The project includes installation of the bridge structure, reconstruction of the paved roadway, installation of guardrail, slope protection, relocation of a dry hydrant, and other ancillary approach work.
