Site work for a civil project in Westport Island, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
Culvert replacement and ditching, with the culverts provided by the Town Sortwell Road Replace two 15 culverts marked with orange paint with two provided 15 smooth flow plastic culverts Ditch north side of road from orange paint mark on road east approximately 1,050. Ditch south side of road from orange paint mark on road east approximately 1,050. Remove 8 stumps on south side of road. Post office Road: Check installment of 15 culvert marked with orange paint to ensure that inlet end is on the upstream side of the road. If not, remove and invert. Install one provided 15 culvert approximately 4-6 from existing culvert. Fowles Point Road: Ditch north side of road approximately 1,100 between orange paint marks. The Select Board of the Town of Westport Island is accepting bids for ditching and culvert replacement on sections of Sortwell, Fowles Point, and Post Office Roads. Contractor to provide all labor, all materials unless otherwise specified, and all equipment necessary to conduct work satisfactorily and safely. Work is to be completed no later than October 1, 2023. Questions should be directed to the Road Commissioner Jim Cromwell at (207) 350-9562.
