The work consists of replacing 2 1/4 inch cast iron and 2 inch PVC with 550 feet of new 8" ductile iron pipe water main and associated appurtenances. The work also consists of two Alternates to extend the existing mains easterly and westerly from the existing and new water mains. The work is located on Turtle Run Road and Island Park Road in Winthrop, Maine. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the bid price and in the form described in the Information for Bidders. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded after the actual date of the opening thereof unless released by the OWNER. A performance and payment bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price will be required in the form described in the Information for Bidders. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, and to accept any Bid that it may deem to be in the best interests of the District. A pre-bid conference will not be conducted for this Project. However, evidence of a site visit is mandatory. Bidder agrees that the work as described in the Summary of work will be substantially complete on or before September 20, 2024, including final paving, and will be completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before October 20, 2024.
