Site work and renovation of a clubhouse / community center in York, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.

The Town of York is accepting Bid Proposals for installation of a new floor at the Center for Active Living, 36 Main Street, York Beach, ME, 03910. This project consists of removal/disposal of the existing tile floor, and installation of a new floor on a concrete slab . The age of the tile floor is unknown. It was installed directly onto the concrete slab with no visible vapor barrier. There are areas in the room where the tile has heaved, and visible cracking to the grout . After heavy rains, moisture has been detected underneath the floor, mostly concentrated on easterly facing wall. There is a small wooden stage in the corner of the activity room, which needs to be removed and disposed of. It's approximately 8 ft x 19ft. The dimensions of the entire activity room are approximately 36 ft x 22ft, or roughly 792 square feet. To completely replace the existing tile floor with a product that repels moisture, provides safe footing, and is easily cleaned. A critical part of the project will be inspection of the concrete slab once all the tiles are removed and disposed of. Leveling may be necessary, and any large cracks should be filled with an appropriate concrete filler. Once the concrete floor is ready for new flooring, it will be determined whether the new floor should be tile, or an engineered vinyl plank product. The condition of the slab and how much moisture is present, will ultimately be the deciding factor in what type of flooring will be installed. Once the new floor is installed , the contractor will replace any trim, baseboards, or door jams that were removed/damaged. A successful inspection by the Parks Superintendent upon completion will be required. All questions related to the bid specifications, requirements, dates, time of work, etc. shall be directed to Ryan Coite, Parks Superintendent: (phone) 207-363-1040 or (email) rcoite@yorkmaine.org.
