The Stevenson Memorial Hospital (Alliston) - Phase 1 Redevelopment Project is to be delivered under the Design-Bid-Build (DBB) delivery model to The Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH). The SMH redevelopment will be a full-service hospital for the community of Alliston, in the Town of New Tecumseth (the Town). The new addition building is proposed to be an L-shaped block, with a footprint of 5,561 sq.m, to the north-east and north-west of the existing building, parallel to the existing building's orientation, but separated from the existing building by ~8m wide open courtyard space. Phase 1 of the Project is to be delivered using a Design Bid Build (DBB) delivery model and will include the construction of a new wrap-around expansion building adjacent to the existing facility. At ~146,200 square-feet, the newly designed expansion will include a replacement and expansion of the existing hospital's acute care areas and associated support functions. Infrastructure Ontario and Stevenson Memorial Hospital have issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for teams to deliver the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Redevelopment Project. The Request for Qualifications is the first step in the process to select a team to help deliver the project. Submissions will be reviewed to shortlist teams with the required construction experience, as well as the financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and complexity. Shortlisted teams will then be invited to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP), which is expected to be published in early 2025. Interested companies must register on merx.com to download the RFQ. The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Redevelopment Project is being delivered using a Design-Bid-Build model. The architect and engineers of record, under contract to Stevenson Memorial Hospital, are completing the design documents.
