Renovation and addition to a fire / police facility in Pasadena, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
This project provides for the expansion and upgrade of Fire Station 31, located at 135 S. Fair Oaks Ave. The station is a two-story, three bay facility built in 1990 and is the busiest fire station in the City. Since FY 2012, calls for service and Unit Responses have increased by approximately 20 percent. For this reason, the station needs to be upgraded to correct deficiencies and expanded to meet service demands. The project is included in the City of Pasadena's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of April 30, 2026, this project is listed as a future unfunded project. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to FY 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
