The test road will investigate the latest innovations in concrete pavement design, construction, materials and instrumentation. It is critical that the contractor selected for the construction of the experimental pavement sections be very experienced in constructing concrete pavements and understand the complexity of building an experimental test facility. Data from this project will guide the Department when developing future design, construction and material specifications and policies related to concrete pavements. The project will be built parallel to US 301, east of the existing northbound lanes. It will consist of 2 additional northbound lanes. The project limits will be from MP 0.116 to MP 3.510. There will be 52 test sections within these limits. This contract is being procured under Florida Statute 337.025, Innovative highway projects.
