Site work, paving and new construction of a fire / police facility in Fresno, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 10,000-square-foot fire / police facility.
Construction is complete. The new fire station layout shall resemble the existing fire station no. 19. The new fire station no. 18 will house two (2) companies staffed with 4 each and one (1) battalion chief for a total of 9 daily staff. The new station will require eight (8) individual dorms with sufficient restrooms to accommodate (8) on duty, a separate battalion chief dorm with its own restroom as well as a battalion chief office, the battalion chief dormitory can be reduced in size. The exercise room on the attached is approximately 264 square feet which will not accommodate enough equipment for two companies. The foreseen equipment shall include two aerobic machines (2 tread mills or other devices), dumbbell rack, weight bench and weight rack, and a multipurpose weight machine; this room should also have direct access to outside. One office with sufficient space to house 3 computer work stations with one printer, storage for files and office supplies shall suffice for the station and captain offices. The communication/electrical rooms may be reduced in size if code allows. The ceiling height should be reduced throughout the station. The turnout room will need to accommodate 30-32 gear grids with ample aisle room and ventilation.
