Renovation of a municipal facility in Toronto, Ontario. Design plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Reconfiguration and interior restoration of Old City Hall.Old City Hall covers 406,000 square feet of space. Nearly half of that is expected to be rentable space in the future. The scope would include construction of a museum Museum of Toronto to showcase some 150,000 historical pieces the city has in its collection in the site of the existing bail court. Also prposed is a wedding chamber on the second floor. Space for the Toronto Public Library on the first floor. A mix of complementary commercial and institutional uses throughout the rest of Old City Hall. TIMELINE: The owner has reviewed the scope of work. The Consultant has completed further study of the scope and feasibility of future alterations the study was forwarded to city council fall 2017. The 2023 Toronto Public Libraries Capital Budget allocates funds for design for the City Hall Library Branch relocation and expansion into Old City Hall for 2024. Design will proceed through 2024/2025. The scope of work and project schedules are being finalized. Construction funding is allocated in 2028/2029 in the proposed 10-year Capital Plan. Tender and construction timing is undetermined.
