Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Toronto, Ontario. Working plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Development of a 2 acre public park to respond to the pressing issues of our growing City and the Central Waterfront and South Core neighborhoods. A new 9,600 sq m waterfront park is being developed on the site adjacent to the elevated Gardiner Expressway. Scope of work includes a berm, which folds up to the level of the highway, acting as a barrier to the noise of the speeding cars. Park experiences will include a café plaza and a more natural area culminating in a hill with a waterfall that offers icicles in the cold of winter. The design elements for Rees Street Park include play for all ages and abilities, an interactive water feature, an architectural pavilion, market activities, open lawn, public art, accommodation for dogs, integration of Lake Shore Boulevard and the Gardiner Expressway and a full spectrum of park amenities (benches, lighting, and wayfinding. TIMELINE: Project design and planning are ongoing. Details on the tender timeline may be available late fall 2025. Construction is currently targeted for spring 2026. Project timelines are subject to change.
