Site work and new construction of a pre-engineered storage facility in Frederick, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a pre-engineered storage facility; and for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility.

This project is to provide funds to allow the City of Frederick to undertake the design and the construction of adequate storage of salt, equipment and materials in 2 locations within the City. At a minimum the project will include: Design of a ~3000 ton salt storage facility at the City Public Works yard at 111 Airport Drive East to replace the outdated salt dome structures currently in use. Design a structure to provide shelter for portable generators, pipe, specialty trailers and small equipment Design of a ~1500 ton storage facility with bathroom amenity located at the Hayward Road water tank site (or a location deemed appropriate) The design will include all necessary permits, easements and bidding documents Hiring of a contractor and the construction of the designed facilities The design and construction work will be broken into phases as the funding becomes available. As of June 21, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2028 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2024. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
