Request for proposal for engineering services, no cost will be shared until city makes recommendaton Water Pollution Control Facility Nutrient Reduction Modifications - Phase I The City of Ames Iowa Water and Pollution Control Department is soliciting proposals from exceptionally well-qualified consultants to assist the City in transforming the Ames Water Pollution Control Facility to achieve the goals of the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy. The City of Ames Iowa Water and Pollution Control Department is soliciting proposals from exceptionally well-qualified consultants to assist the City in transforming the Ames Water Pollution Control Facility to achieve the goals of the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy. The effort is expected to generally conform to the conclusions presented to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in the Ames Nutrient Reduction Feasibility Study completed in 2019, which recommended a phased transformation over a period of 20 years utilizing a biological nutrient reduction process. Included in the Scope of Work is a complete renovation of the plant headworks (grit removal, screening, piping and supports, and peak flow handling processes).
