Renovation of an educational facility in Denton, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The University Services Building, (USB), is a single story building built in 1985 with 49,290 square feet of warehouse, printing, and office space located at 2310 N. I-35E, Denton, TX. Much of the MEP systems in the building are original to the building and past the end of service life, create occupant dissatisfaction, and are at risk of failure. The MEP renovation will meet current building code and life safety requirements and improve energy efficiency and indoor air quality. Renovation of the systems in the building will include replacing the HVAC system, installation of a new geothermal well field, a new electrical system, as well as some architectural upgrades to accommodate insulation. This project will update the MEP systems in the building to last another 25+ years, improve occupant comfort, and exceed modern energy efficiency standards. To achieve this, the outdated electrical service will be replaced, the HVAC system will be replaced to serve the current needs of the building, and a geothermal system will be installed to provide heat transfer for heating and cooling.
