Northland Drive (Highway 11A) between Taylor Drive and Gaetz Avenue will be twinned which includes a grade separated overpass at the CP Rail crossing. The intersections of Taylor Drive and Gaetz Avenue will also be upgraded to multi-lane roundabouts with concrete pavement. A portion of Highway 2A north of Northland Drive/Highway 11A will also be upgraded as part of this project, including asphalt overlay. The scope of the project includes, but is not limited to: 1. Removals 2. Import and Waste Excavation 3. Grading, Base, Paving 4. Bridge work (including Lightweight Fill) 5. Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring 6. Concrete Curb and Gutter, Concrete Lanes, Concrete Barriers, and Concrete Aprons 7. Storm Sewers 8. Casings for Future Water Mains (Provisional) 9. Shallow Utilities Crossings 10. Street Lighting 11. Signage 12. Roadway Markings 13. Landscaping 14. Fencing TIMELINE: Tender from general contractors was issued in spring 2022 but subsequently terminated by the owner due to budget constraints. Scope of work and project delivery is subject to change, pending future growth in the area. Project is not included in the owner's current capital plans. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
