Site work and paving for a road / highway in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
As of April 27, 2021, this project is going through environmental approval and design won't be complete until February, 2022 and Right of Way Acquisition won't be complete until March, 2022. The Bid process would start in late February or March, 2021. Construction is anticipated to start by March, 2022 and be complete by March, 2023. Billy Swails Boulevard 4B This project was originally part of the Hungryneck Boulevard Phase 4 from Six Mile Road to Porchers Bluff Road. Preliminary design began in 2006 but the project was placed on hold for an interim period due to lack of funding. The project has subsequently been funded with Charleston Area Transportation Study (CHATS) federal guide-share funding and renamed Billy Swails Boulevard. It will extend from Six Mile Road to Hamlin Road. The project includes a new two-lane divided road with bike and pedestrian facilities. This project is included in the Town of Mount Pleasant FY 2020-2024 CIP. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
