Remodeling of a mixed-use development in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 1,323-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

The project is to remodel the Hillcrest Medical Offices North (MON), 2nd floor existing Cath Lab room 2-313 into an Electrophysiology (EP) diagnostic and therapeutic lab. The EP lab will install new floor mounted imaging equipment, ceiling booms for monitors, EP Equipment and anesthesia gases. The project also included; expanding the existing control room 2-311B, installing new imaging support equipment in room 2-313A, converting the existing soiled utility room 2-311 into a vestibule for control rooms 2-311B and 2-309, minor modifications to the clean utility room 2-318 and, conversion of the existing film processing room 2-136 into a soiled utility room. The square footage of the project is approximately 1,323 SF. Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in This State. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: General Contractor, B. UC San Diego encourages the participation of Small, Disadvantaged, Minority-owned, Womenowned and Service/Disabled Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (S/D/M/W/DVBE's) and is committed to promote a diverse pool of firms for our building programs. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for this project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a). No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded any portion of this project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. Contractors and subcontractors must use the DIR's upgraded electronic certified payroll reporting (eCPR) system to furnish certified payroll records (CPRs) to the Labor Commissioner. Contractors and subcontractors who have been submitting PDF copies of their CPRs for earlier projects must also begin using the new system. ALL CONTRACTORS AND SUBCONTRACTORS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS (DIR) AT BID TIME. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
