Site work, paving and new construction of a road / highway in Columbia, South Carolina. Design plans call for the construction of a road / highway.
Conceptual plans call for the construction of a four-lane highway to provide a link between I-95 and the Myrtle Beach region. The I-73 Southern Corridor will be approximately 42 miles long. I-73 Southern project construction plans are currently being updated for segments between I-95 and US 501 in Dillon County, as funding becomes available. As of August 27, 2025, per owner, Right of Way acquisition is currently ongoing for segments of I-73 located in Marion and Horry Counties. A design team has been identified. No contractor has been selected yet. Construction is still TBD until funding is identified to move forward. Funding is not currently available.
