The Engineer's Estimate for this Project is $129,000,000. The project consist of replacing the aging A-Side facilities and to take advantage of potential operational and cost benefits resulting from new clarifier cover design configurations and advancements in odor technologies. The overall P2-98 project is to rehabilitate or replace facilities in the primary treatment system at Plant No. 2 without a change in the overall plant rated treatment capacity. The primary treatment system at Plant No. 2 consists of fourteen circular clarifiers and associated influent piping, influent distribution structures, effluent piping and sludge pumping units. The clarifiers are covered with geodesic domes that contain the foul air from the clarifiers for conveyance to and treatment at two foul air scrubbing complexes. The primary treatment facilities were built between 1960 and 1985. The units are experiencing varying degrees of deterioration due to corrosion and need rehabilitation or replacement based on physical condition, level of performance, and age. The work consists of general site work, construction of four new Primary Clarifiers and Primary Sludge Pump Stations, construction of the new APSC (A-Side Primary Scrubber Complex), construction of the new Distribution Center F (DC-F), construction of the new Junction Boxes and Distribution Structure A (DS-A), necessary temporary facilities to complete the work and the demolition of existing structures to allow construction of the new project facilities. Addendum #1 & #2 have been issued. Temporary facilities include bleach station, temporary red-feed of power, Motor Control Center (MCC), plant water strainer, utilities, site dewatering, and shoring. The demolition work includes the existing A-side primary clarifier facilities, yard piping, odor treatment complex (south scrubber complex), tunnels, Power Distribution Facility (PDF) building (structure only), Power Building A, the temporary facilities, and hazardous materials.
