Demolition, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for the construction of a 30-story above grade multi-residential development; and retail development.
Ryerson is exploring options to demolish the existing buildings at 101-111 Gerrard St E and redevelop to maximize the potential development density of the property; the scope will include public realm improvements and connections to other existing buildings. The site would be developed for academic teaching spaces, administration, zone education needs, administrative and financial support functions, student residences and street related retail. The scope could include an institutional podium with retail/services at grade and a 30 storey residential tower above. TIMELINE: Request For Prequalification from prospective proponents for the design and development of three potential development sites was followed separately and closed late summer, 2017. No projects resulted from this call. Coverage of this report is discontinued. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
