Site work for a water / sewer project in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of October 3, 2024, per owner, this project has been delayed. This area has a region wide light rail project happening at the same time. Both projects a in a preliminary engineering phase at this point. City staff in conjunction with a yet to be decided firm will do the design work. Utilities will be extended in the remaining open land areas in the next 5 years. Large water mains will be necessary to complete the City's trunk loop to the proposed water tower site. In many cases the developer's will install the water mains but they will only install lines sized for their developments not the trunk loop. In the past developer's installed the larger lines and were reimbursed for the cost differential. This project is currently in the FY 2024-2028 CIP. Project is funded for construction in FY2024-2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
