*As of June 28, 2021, a general contractor has been awarded. This Project Consists of Rehabilitation to Preserve the Historic Bridge and the Local Roadway Network. Existing Substructures Will Be Underpinned. Prior to the Start of Construction Activities on the Bridge, Temporary Arch Support Will Be Installed to Preserve the Integrity of the Stone Arch Structure During the Rehabilitation. The Profile of the Top of the Existing Arch Structure Will Remain to Preserve the Shape of the Existing Structure. New Cast-in-place Concrete Caps Will Be Provided Over the Stone Masonry Walls. The Stone Masonry Arch Barrel, Spandrel Walls, Abutments, and Piers Will Not Be Reconstructed. Instead, They Will Be Cleaned and Repointed to Improve the Appearance and to Stabilize the Stones. A Waterproofing Membrane Will Be Installed on the Rehabilitated Bridge and It Will Be Covered by a Bituminous Wearing Course, to Reduce Water Infiltration. The Project Also Includes Reconstructed Bridge Approaches and Other Miscellaneous Construction, All as Indicated on the Approved Drawings Included in the Bid Package for State Route 1005, Section 009, in Latimore Township, Adams County, From Segment 0160 Offset 0714 to Segment 0170 Offset 0351, for an Overall Project Length of 387.00 Linear Feet (0.073 Mile).
