https://www.portland.gov/parks/news/2022/10/18/ppr-receives-metro-funding-three-projects - North Portland Greenway: Kelley Point Park Recipient: Portland Parks & Recreation Grant amount: $1,897,908 Match: $813,389 Summary: Kelley Point Park is a historically and culturally significant place due to its location at the confluence of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. It is also the future northern terminus of the planned North Portland Willamette Greenway Trail. While much of the trail is already built within the park, there is a 1,400-foot gap that currently forces trail users onto the road. This project will fix this by extending the trail to the 40-Mile Loop and Marine Drive Trails. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Construct a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over Columbia Boulevard and an extension of the Willamette Greenway Trail from the existing termini in Chimney Park to the south end of the landfill bridge over the south Columbia Slough. As of February 20, 2023, the project is in final planning status. Anticipated letting year 2024. ODOT - Willamette Greenway Trail: Columbia Blvd Bridge *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
