Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Midland, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The proposed work is generally described as follows: Construction of approximately 690 LF of 5' sidewalk, minor storm drainage, installation of pedestrian signal, and grading along Bethel School Road beginning at Saddlebrook Drive and ending at Rob Wallace Park. All questions related to this project during the advertisement period shall be submitted to David W. Lipe, PE, Project Engineer, at the office of the Engineer (email address is dlipe@awck.com). On all Federal-aid contracts, non-licensed contractors are permitted to submit bids, however, they must be licensed prior to performing any work. They are permitted 60 days, after bid opening, to become licensed by the North Carolina Licensing Board. If they fail to do so within 60 days, their bid will be considered non-responsive and will be rejected. If the successful bidder does not hold the proper license to perform any plumbing, heating, air conditioning, or electrical work in this contract, he will be required to sublet such work to a contractor properly licensed in accordance with Article 2 of Chapter 87 of the General Statutes (licensing of heating, plumbing, and air conditioning contractors) and Article 4 of Chapter 87 of the General Statutes (licensing of electrical contractors). Any firm that wishes to bid as a prime contractor shall be prequalified by the NCDOT as a Bidder or PO Prime Contractor prior to submitting a bid. Each Bid shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid, said check to be made payable to the Town of Midland. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids, and to reject the bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder. Owner also reserves the right to waive informalities. NCDOT - Bethel School Road Sidewalk Improvements in Midland NC Estimated Construction cost is about 125k to 150k.
