This Structure Foundation Report, prepared by Navarro & Wright Consulting Engineers, Inc. (N&W) for Reilly Associates (Reilly) summarizes the results of the subsurface evaluations, the geotechnical analyses and recommendations for the proposed structure. All investigations and analyses were conducted in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Design Specifications as stated in DM-4 (2019) and the AASHTO (American Association of State Highway Officials) LRFD Bridge Design Specifications (2017). The report outline is in general accordance with PennDOT Publication 293 (2018). The project is located along State Route (SR) 0092, Section 350 over Lewis Creek, in Exeter Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Refer to Figures 1 and 2 for the State Route Map and Topographic Map. The existing structure is a single-span, steel pipe arch culvert built in 1964. Two travel lanes are maintained by the structure and the existing roadway has a width of approximately 32 feet. The proposed project will include replacing the existing structure with a precast reinforced concrete box culvert. It is anticipated that the proposed structure will be constructed on the same horizontal alignment with slight modifications to the profile to account for any increase in superstructure depth. The proposed culvert will have a clear span of 11'-0" with an out-to-out width of 13'-0". The proposed structure will have an out-to-out length of 44'-6 1/2" at a 90 angle from normal. The proposed roadway improvements will be limited to the area required to construct the proposed structure and tie into the approach roadway.
