Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Weatherford, Texas. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a restaurant; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; theater / auditorium; for paving for a road / highway; and road / highway.
Plans call to develop three-step process to provide pedestrian friendly Heritage square including construction of U.S. Highway 180 bypass and divert truck traffic from the historic downtown area. The second step would be the southern connection and the last step would be to develop the historic downtown square with entertainment, restaurants, and pedestrian friendly walkways. As of November 4, 2019, this project is currently in preliminary stage of planning and in the process of obtaining funding. The owner has not release a timeline in place to when a design solicitation will be issued. 2019 - Engineers to begin year long-process to determine schematic configuration for northern bypass (phase 1). 2020 - Anticipated construction to begin for northern bypass (phase 1). Beyond 2020 - Undetermined at this time because funding has yet to be acquired. However, City of Weatherford will continue to pursue funding options.
