Site work for a road / highway in Kelso, Washington. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway.
STIP ID 400018N08 The breakaway cable terminal (BCT) design does not meet NCHRP 350 specifications, and has been identified for active removal since 1994. This project will complete the work identified earlier and replace these devices before they are hit and the device fails to act as they were intended. Replacing them will increase the safety of the motoring public and reduces the risk to the agency. As of February 20, 2023, this project is in a design status. Preliminary engineering has begun and environmental design is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2018. The contract advertisement is expected in fourth quarter 2023 and construction is anticipated to be operationally complete in the second quarter of 2024. WSDOT - SWR Breakaway Cable Terminal Replacement - Non-Interstates *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
