Site work and renovation of a civil project in Huntington, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Project formerly known as Huntington Station Hub - 8195. As of November 18, 2024, this project has been released for general contractor bidding. The installation of the extension of the Walt Whitman Pump Station force main from a manhole near the intersection of Old Country Road and New York Avenue to a manhole at the intersection of Corporate Drive and Maxess Road in the Town of Huntington. This will include the crossing of the Long Island Expressway. The following is a summary of the work: 1. Installation of approximately 10,800 LF of 10-inch HDPE force main, complete with all necessary manholes and appurtenances. 2. Installation of approximately 400 LF of the force main using trenchless technologies for the Crossing of the Long Island Expressway at Old East Neck Road. 3. Installation of the force main will include but is not limited to providing complete utility mark out and test holes as required, work zone traffic control, tracer wire, testing, road restoration and all permitting. 4. Replace the existing air release/ vacuum system with new combination air release/ air vacuum valves on existing force main. 5. Obtain approvals for construction from all agencies having jurisdiction including the Town of Huntington, NYS DOT, and Suffolk County of Public Works. 6. Prepare redlines as work progresses and as-built drawings at the completion of the job. The notice to proceed is expected to be issued in April 2025 with construction expected to start late Spring 2025. Construction is expected to take two years to complete. *The bid list for this project may be incomplete.
