Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2023. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") in coordination with the City of West Palm Beach ("City") has identified a major redevelopment project within the CRA boundaries with the goal to enhance a public asset and provide substantial public benefit to the health, welfare and economic vitality to the surrounding area. Currie Park is located at 2400 N. Flagler Drive adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway. The waterfront park consists of approximately 13.6 acres of public open space which currently includes boat ramps and trailer parking, tennis courts, fishing pier, playground, a Maritime Museum, a landmark memorial to commemorate the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., covered pavilions and restroom facilities. It is the intent of the CRA and City to solicit the pre-qualified design firms selected from the RFQ No. 17-18-409 to transform Currie Park into a world class park. The firm will provide architectural and engineering services, including but not limited to, conceptual design, design development, preparation of construction documents and civic engagement. Firms must be pre-qualified as a professional consultant with the City of West Palm Beach under Consultants Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA) in order to be considered for award. Only the pre-qualified firms from the RFQ No. 17-18-409 can submit proposal for RFP No. 18-19-201. As of December 4, 2019, the owner has canceled this project due to the proposed cost exceeding their budget.
