Contractor's California License And/or Class Required A-general Engineering Contractor The work performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for doing work associated with the milling of asphalt surfaces in coordination with Sacramento County Maintenance Forces on an on-call basis at various locations within Sacramento County as described in the Project Special Provisions titled Street Milling Services 2018-2019 County Contract No. 40879. No project pre-bid conference will be held for the project. For specific questions regarding this project any interested Contractor may contact Tim Cress - Project Engineer, Department of Transportation, Maintenance Engineering, at cresst@saccounty.net. Award of this contract requires a valid California contractor's license with the classification identified above. Each bid must be submitted on the proposal bid forms. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check, or cashier's check payable to the Treasurer of Sacramento County, or cash for an amount of the aggregate sum of the bid. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the County of Sacramento, of the contract price. Pursuant to California Contract Code Section 22300, the contractor may, at its own expense, substitute securities for any money being withheld by the County to ensure performance under this contract. This is a construction project in accordance with Section 1771.5 of the California Labor Code. The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The County of Sacramento received final approval from the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations as a Labor Compliance Program effective March 15, 1994. All questions regarding this Labor Compliance Program should be directed to (916) 875-2700. In accordance with Section 1771.5 of the California Labor Code, the payment of the general prevailing rate of per diem wages or the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for holiday and overtime is not required for any project of $25,000, or less, when the project is for construction work, or of $15,000, or less, when the project is for alteration, demolition, repair, or maintenance work. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public work project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1 (a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to determine which bid, in the judgment of the County, is the lowest responsive bid of a responsible bidder.
