For the list of contractors that pre-qualified, Bids from firms that did not qualify will be automatically disqualified. In the 1960s, Fire Stations 54 and 55 were designed and built. Fire Station 54 is located at 46 Castro Avenue in the Canal neighborhood. Fire Station 55 is located at 955 Point San Pedro Rd., San Rafael, California and consists of the following: The proposed 4,869 sf, single-story fire station will house three on-duty fire fighters. The shift duty is a 48-hour schedule resulting in a shift change every other day. 7 on-site parking spaces are provided to accommodate this shift change and 1 van accessible parking space accessible to the public. (Temporary Fire Station will be on site located on west lawn area.Contractor shall maintain access to allow Fire Station staff to fully operate during construction). The core facilities of the station include the following elements o Two apparatus bays o Apparatus support spaces including a medical storage, Clean-up area, turnout storage and related janitor facilities o Gym o Station office o Kitchen, dining, dayroom, and laundry room o Private sleeping quarters with gender neutral restrooms o Mechanical, electrical, communications rooms o Emergency generator o Fueling station (see Alternate 1) Fire Station 54 is located at 46 Castro St., San Rafael, California and consists of the following:The proposed 5,108 sf, two-story fire station will house three on-duty fire ighters. The shift duty is a 48-hour schedule resulting in a shift change every other day. 8 on-site parking spaces are provided to accommodate this shift change. The core facilities of the station include the following elements o Two apparatus bays o Apparatus support spaces including a medical storage, Clean-up area, turnout storage and related janitor facilities o Gym o Station office o Kitchen, dining, dayroom, and laundry room o Private sleeping quarters with gender neutral restrooms o Mechanical, electrical, communications rooms o Elevator o Emergency generator Fire Station 55 is located at 955 Point San Pedro Road between Knight Drive and Peacock Drive. The project scope entails: -Remove and replace the original living quarters and roof -Seismic upgrade of the existing apparatus bay -Complete recladding and refinishing of the exterior facade with new materials Engineer's Estimate: $6,700,000 (total for both projects) The percentage of retention that will be withheld from progress payments is 5% The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price, as further specified in the Contract Documents.The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that within ten days after City issues the Notice of Award, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates and endorsements, and any other submittals required by the Contract Documents and as specified in the Notice of Award. The Project must be completed within 365 calendar days from the start date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. City anticipates that the Work will begin on or about the week of January 3, 2022, but the anticipated start date is provided solely for convenience and is neither certain nor binding.
