This project is a request for proposal and includes: general, hvac, plumbing and electrical construction. This project consists of: Comprehensive modernization of the two structures (1968 original and 1998 addition) comprising DeFrancesco, totaling approximately 62,000 square feet, including complete systems upgrades, modernization for code compliance and enhanced performance for program needs, addition, site improvements, and miscellaneous related work at Kutztown University - DeFrancesco Education Building. The DeFrancesco Building is an education building located on the north campus of Kutztown University. The building includes two structures; the original 41,730 sf steel framed and brick clad structure constructed in 1967 and a steel framed, brick clad 21,540 addition constructed in 1996. The goals of the project are to: provide upgraded classroom space that meets current university standards; consolidate the offices of the College of Business into the DeFran Building; provide accessibility and MEP upgrades throughout the building in order to meet the current building code. The scope of the project is included by not limited to: A full HVAC system upgrade to the building; A new sprinkler system installed throughout; Reconfiguration and redistribution of the classrooms to meet current university education standards; reconfiguration of the the building offices to accommodate the College of Business; Consolidation of the bathrooms within the 1968 building; Providing a new accessible entrance and lounge on the south elevation of the building which includes an accessible ramp and an outdoor plaza; and as part of base bid 4, providing a new accessible east entry to the building.
