Kutztown University is seeking qualified contractors for essential repairs to underground utilities (steam, condensate, water, electric, storm and sanitary lines, etc.), and building systems. Work shall include, but is not limited to, excavating, welding, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Work shall include all labor, superintendence, materials, tools and equipment, and performing all work necessary to complete work. It is the intent of the University to issue work order (unit-price) contracts to multiple qualified contractors. Contract length will be one year. Four optional one-year renewals will be available. All work will be done strictly on an as-needed basis. In order to ensure the responsiveness of contractors, and in the best interests of the University, contractors must meet the following special requirements: Must be located within 50 miles (as the road drives) from the University. Contractors located outside of the 50 mile distance will not be considered. Must be capable of responding to emergency calls within four (4) hours from time of notification. Must have certified welders on staff or available as a subcontractor. Must have at least five (5) years experience in work performed that is similar in scope, complexity, and work environment. Authorized Document Source: The IFB must be procured from Kutztown University. Due to the possible inaccuracies in documents procured from other sources, and the potential for an incomplete understanding of the scope of work, bids submitted by contractors who procure the IFB from any other source but the authorized source will be considered non-responsive and will be rejected.
