Development of an Airport Master Plan to guide future development of the West Kootenay Regional Airport over a 25-year horizon. TIMELINE: A summary of the master plan has been released. Phase 1 Short-term (2019-2024) infrastructure works include apron expansion, runway extension, terminal building renovations, addition of new approach lighting, land services and preparation for new lease lots. Phase 2 Medium-term (2025-2029) infrastructure works include further apron expansion, taxiway expansion, partial parallel taxiway, general aviation lot servicing and hangar expansion. Phase 3 Long-term (2029 and beyond) infrastructure works include completion of full parallel taxiway, additional general aviation lot development, further terminal building expansion and upgrades, expanding lease lots. Individual projects within the master plan will be covered under separate reports as procurement notices for design, consulting and construction services are posted.
