Saving Project...

Site work and paving for a civil project in Bullhead City, Arizona. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The Bullhead Parkway was originally constructed in the early 1990s. In the mid-2000s, it was widened to 4 lanes and a rubberized overlay was applied. Since then, the Parkway has only undergone routine maintenance. The pavement has exceeded its anticipated design life and will require complete reconstruction to insure it remains the second-most important roadway in our community. The Parkway is a main emergency evacuation route for our citizens. This is also a main trucking bypass for the City of Bullhead City. This project consists of the complete reconstruction and improvement of the Bullhead Parkway. Included will be the installation of designated bicycle paths along the entire length as well as drainage and safety related improvements to protect the Parkway and enhance vehicular and non-motorized traffic safety. Raised center medians and new street lighting will be installed as well as new guardrails to bring the roadway into safety compliance. The traffic signals will be upgraded to current standards and new signage and safety features will be placed along the entire roadway. Funding for this project is contingent upon receiving a $25 million grant for reconstruction of the roadway, with no City match. Preliminary design began in 2021. Fiscal Year 2022-23 will consist of final design, engineering, and professional services such as permits, electrical and legal fees. The project will be bid ready by the end of Fiscal Year 2022 and construction will begin. As of August 15, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2027 CIP. Information regarding a design team and the contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
