Upgrades and repairs to the Hospital building. The third modernization phase aims to bring the main body of the Sacré-Coeur de Montréal hospital up to standard, both functionally and technically, in order to meet the requirements in force for the building as well as for the provision of health care and services and includes modernization of the operating theater areas, day surgery, cardiology unit and medical device reprocessing unit. The 14 operating theaters will be expanded to meet the new standards and the new provision will introduce a much more efficient case trolley management mode. The operating room will house a recovery room with 14 stretchers, two of them with negative pressure. The day surgery sector will have two anesthesia rooms and 14 surgical stretchers, four more than currently. The new cardiology unit will still have 36 beds, but will accommodate more cardiology patients as the vascular and thoracic beds will be moved elsewhere in the hospital at the end of the work. Also, the option of adding a heliport located on the roof of the new construction or elsewhere on the hospital site constitutes an integral part of the mandate. TIMELINE: The owner has awarded a consortium of architectural and engineering professional consulting firms to complete real estate analysis of the existing facility. Preliminary studies are underway. All project parameters including scope of work, budget and timelines of development will be finalized based on the data that will be prepared by professional consultants.
