Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Woodford, Virginia. Design plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
As the existing 2 & 17 pump lift station is reaching the end of its service life; this project involves construction of a new pump lift station. In the meantime, staff is utilizing alternate pumping methods and has connected the station to Spotsylvania County’s nearby collection system while work is performed on the existing pumping station. This work will be coordinated with VDOT's road widening project for Rte.2, US 17, and Landsdowne Road in this area. Increased costs from the FY 2023 CIP estimate are due to the addition to the project of the required construction of a new force main with a new alignment. This project is currently in the FY 2024-2028 CIP. As of July 11, 2025, per owner, construction has not started. The design is currently in progress. Construction to begin upon approval of the design. (6-12 months). Design firm identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
