Demolition, site work, new construction and renovation of a municipal facility in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a 2,500-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

A. Extent of painting work is indicated on drawings and schedules, and as herein specified. 1. Architectural paints. 2. Work includes painting and finishing of interior exposed items and surfaces throughout Project, except as otherwise indicated. 3. Identification of fire rated walls: At fire rated walls, provide 1 inch high painted stencil lettering above finished ceilings and at ceiling access doors. Locate lettering at 8'-0" (max) horizontal intervals on both sides of concealed walls. Lettering shall read: "FIRE RATED ASSEMBLY" (all caps) in fluorescent "safety" orange paint color. a. Lettering is not required at fire rated walls that are exposed to view (spaces without finished ceilings/exposed construction). b. Refer to the Life Safety Plans and Partition types for rated wall locations; and reflected ceiling plans for concealed rated wall locations 4. Surface preparation, priming and coats of paint specified are in addition to shop-priming and surface treatment specified under other sections of work. 5. Painted Patterns and Accent Colors: Location of multi-color paint patterns and accent color areas are indicated on the "Finish Plan" on Drawings. 6. Application of clear coat "markerboard" coating over paint colors. Project Number - 2023-01506-00 This project includes the demolition and reconstruction of a portion of the 1st floor of the City's Executive Plaza Building at 601 Caroline Street to serve as a new Visitor's Center for the City. Contact Siera Rogers, Purchasing Officer, for any inquiries at ssrogers@fredericksburgva.gov. All requests for clarification or questions regarding this bid must be in writing and received no later than 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023. The construction period is anticipated to be six to seven months, and the majority of the work site is indoors. If the schedule holds for receipt and evaluation of bids and contract approval, the City anticipates substantial completion by June 28, 2024, and a certificate of occupancy by July 26, 2024. The 1st floor is being renovated to serve as the new Visitor's Center for the City of Fredericksburg, as well as storage for the Information Technology Department. The Project Manual Specifications, Part I General, includes additional detail and description of the existing building and the project.
