A tentative timeline for the award is between April or May.*** Rehabilitate approximately 1,552 linear feet of 36-inch sewer line along Sierra Nevada Street between Hazelton Avenue and Worth Street, and along Hazelton Avenue between Sierra Nevada Street and Wilson Way. The work to be performed consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, transportation, supplies, equipment, appurtenances, fuel, and power, unless specifically excepted, necessary, or required to install the sewer rehabilitation, as further delineated on the plans and described in these Special Provisions. Deadline to Submit Questions: January 31, 2022 The Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the City of Stockton in the amount of $4,500 (four thousand dollars) per day for each and every calendar day that the work, with the exception of the maintenance period, remains incomplete after the expiration of the contract working days specified in these Special Provisions. Each bidder shall be licensed in accordance with applicable State laws. The City of Stockton encourages local Stockton firms to bid this project and the City encourages bidders to use local Stockton firms as subcontractors. Accordingly, the Local Business Preference Ordinance applies to this project. This project is subject to the requirements of the City's Local Employment Ordinance. Pursuant to the implementation of the Community Workforce and Training Agreement (CWTA) adopted by the City Council on July 26, 2016, the successful bidder shall be required to comply with the provisions of CWTA. All bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" license at the time the bid is submitted and retain the license through the duration of the project. Failure to possess the specified license shall render the bid as non-responsive. The successful Contractor shall obtain a City of Stockton business license prior to contract execution and retain the license through the duration of the project. Bidders are hereby notified that the successful bidder and any subcontractor under them shall pay prevailing wage rates in accordance with the State of California Department of Industrial Relations. A contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder as defined in the Stockton Municipal Code; provided, however, that the City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to re-advertise for bids or to provide for the work to be done by the City of Stockton. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Labor and Material Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, each in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Said bonds shall be furnished by a company authorized to issue surety bonds in the State of California. On official forms furnished by City, said bonds shall be executed by the surety and contractor before or concurrently with the signing of the contract.
