The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. This work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. The work may consist of, but is not limited to, the following: The proposed project provides immediate infrastructure needs and signing upgrades for multi-modal links on Avenue R between Sierra Highway and 25th Street East. The project incorporates a Complete Street with completed sidewalk gaps, ladder-style crosswalks to increase visibility, bus turnouts to provide enhanced access to public transit, as well as Class II bicycle lanes. The project also includes enhancement to safety for active transportation users and school children walking to school, such as Speed Feedback Signs, school signing & striping upgrades using updated CAMUTCD guidance, and a bulb-out at a school crossing to minimize distant exposed to traffic. The project also consists of a two-way left turn lane (TWLTL) on Avenue R which will provide an emergency space for pedestrians to take refuge if they refuse to cross at signalized intersections, as well as remove left turning bicyclists from traffic flow. Scope of Work includes: Clearing and grubbing, trees protection, SWPPP, grading, roadway construction, construction of new curb, gutter, driveways, sidewalk and curb ramps, bicycle route, drainage improvements, installation of new LED street lights, signing & striping, fiber optic relocation & installation, utility relocation and adjustment, traffic signal modifications, appurtenances not mentioned above but required in accordance with the Contract Documents, and other miscellaneous work as shown on the plans. Should any detail or details be omitted from the Contract Documents which are essential to its functional completeness, it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to furnish and install such detail or request such details from the City Engineer so that upon completion of the proposed work, the improvements will be acceptable and ready for use.
