Site work, paving, outdoor lighting and new construction of a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Design plans call for the construction of a recreation facility; playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Development of a 2 acre public park to respond to the pressing issues of our growing City and the Central Waterfront and South Core neighborhoods. A new 9,600 square meter waterfront park is being developed on the site adjacent to the elevated Gardiner Expressway. The scope of work includes a berm, which folds up to the level of the highway, acting as a barrier to the noise of the speeding cars. Park experiences will include a café plaza and a more natural area culminating in a hill with a waterfall that offers icicles in the cold of winter. The design elements for Rees Street Park include play for all ages and abilities, an interactive water feature, an architectural pavilion, market activities, open lawn, public art, accommodation for dogs, integration of Lake Shore Boulevard and the Gardiner Expressway and a full spectrum of park amenities (benches, lighting, and wayfinding. The design includes a future storm shaft. TIMELINE: Community engagement is underway, public information session regarding the park design is expected spring/summer 2024. Detailed design is ongoing, completion is expected spring/summer 2025. Completion of design is anticipated late 2025. Tender for general contractors will be issued summer/fall 2025 with a contractor expected to be secured late 2025. Construction is expected early spring 2026 based on capital funding allocation.
