Demolish and replace the two existing NW Chilled Water Plant cooling tower fan variable frequency drive (VFD) control units (one of two has failed) with new, updated devices. This will conitune to allow variable speed control during the NW Chilled Water Plant operational process. Project Location: Work shall be performed under this Contract on the campus of the University of Iowa at the Newton Road Parking and Chilled Water Facility, 360 Newton Road, Iowa City, IA 52242. The project consists of, but is not limited to, electrical construction centering on the replacement of the cooling tower fan variable-frequency drives (VFD). Substantial Completion 63 calendar days from receipt of Notice of Award. Final Completion 30 calendar days from Substantial Completion Construction Budget $105,140 Bids will be received for a single General Construction Contract. Iowa Construction Sales Tax Exemption Certificates will be provided on this project. Bidding Documents may be examined at locations listed on electronically. Each bid shall be submitted electronically via electronically - 00 41 13 specification provided in the Project Manual for reference only. Bid shall be accompanied by bid security, as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which the Owner will sustain by failure, neglect, or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the Work in unqualified compliance with the Contract Documents. Successful bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Contract Performance and Payment Bond within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days after the date of opening. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. This project has a participation goal of 10% for certified Targeted Small Businesses as specified in the Project Requirements. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa.
