Renovation of a mixed-use development in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.
The City of Pittsburgh Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, is soliciting bids for Oliver Bath House Renovation - Construction. The Oliver Bath House (initially dubbed the South Side Bath House) was completed in 1915 and was a gift of steel magnate Henry W. Oliver to the city of Pittsburgh. Located in the historic Southside neighborhood, the Bath House was nominated as a city Historic Landmark in February 2017. Programming at the Oliver Bath House is run by the City's Department of Parks and Recreation. The City of Pittsburgh is committed to preserving the historic integrity of the Oliver Bath House utilizing guidelines set forth in the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Historic Preservation. We are also committed to enhancing building performance through sustainable measures as outlined in the City's new Net-Zero/Net-Zero Ready Ordinance. Project design has received approval from both the State Historic Preservation Office, and the City's Historic Review Commission. State Redevelopment Assistance Capitol Project (RACP) grant funds are being utilized for the construction. The Project consists of the renovation of the historic Bath House as shown on attached Construction Drawing set and as clarified in Project Manual prepared by Buchart Horn Architects. Work includes a full interior renovation on all levels, selective demolition, replacement of roof, mechanical, electrical and plumbing, pool renovations, and pool systems replacement. This will require general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors. In addition to renovating the building, there will also be site work directly adjacent to the structure to include sidewalk vault repair and replacement of sidewalk. Bidders may bid on all or some of the categories under their respective Pricing Proposal table. The City will review bids and determine whether to award all to one, or to multiple vendors for the general construction and trade portions of work.
