The Corporation intends to build a new Ferrous Chloride Dosing System at the Cloverdale Pump Station site. The new facility is to replace an existing facility currently located at the City of Surrey Works Yard, which the city has asked to be removed. The Ferrous Chloride dosing facility injects ferrous chloride into the wastewater to reduce odour generation and corrosion in the South Surrey Interceptor by inhibiting sulphide generation. The purpose of the project is to construct a new facility, at Cloverdale Pump Station Site 5584 164 Street, Surrey, to dose ferrous chloride into the sewer system into the Cloverdale Forcemain No. 2, which subsequently flows into the South Surrey Interceptor (SSI). The purpose of dosing ferrous chloride is to control odour and corrosion within the sewer system by reducing sulphide and hydrogen sulphide concentrations. The current old facility, at Surrey Works Yard 14645 66 Avenue, Surrey, BC, needs to be removed, as requested by the City. The replacement system must be installed at Cloverdale PS site prior to removal to avoid a disruption in dosing. Scope Preloading, piling, and dewatering of the new facility area in close proximity to the existing below grade SSO concrete tank. Construct concrete slab for chemical delivery area and new Ferrous Chloride Facility. Construction of a new Ferrous Chloride Facility, which includes two story precast building, access walkways, FRP chemical tanks, process equipment/piping, air compressor, HVAC, plumbing/drainage, and all required electrical, instrumentation and communication systems. Install concrete manhole and pipework for stormwater collection. Connection into existing service water connection onsite for new facility. Install new power feed from existing MCC panel in existing SSO building. Install electrical grounding grid for new facility. Install a buried 140m long double contained gravity feed chemical line from the new facility to the existing manhole for ferrous chloride injection. Removal and installation of security gate and fencing. Paving of entrance for new facility. Widening of 164th Street at facility entrance and redirection of ditch and installation of culvert on west side of roadway. Operation & Maintenance Manuals for new Ferrous Chloride Facility. Testing & Commissioning of new Ferrous Chloride Facility. Decommission the old ferrous chloride facility located at Surrey Works Yard 14645 66 Avenue, Surrey, BC.
