The Aldine-Westfield Stormwater Detention Basin - Phase I (HCFCD Unit P500-04-00) project consists of excavation and grading of the AldineWestfield stormwater detention basin. The site is located in north central Harris County along Greens Bayou (HCFCD Unit P100-00-00), east of Aldine-Westfield Road, north of Beltway 8 and is very close to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). The major work activity is excavation and off-site disposal of 628,187 cubic yards of material. Construction activities will include fencing to protect one existing jurisdictional wetland, clearing and grubbing, installation of the outfall pipes, and construction of the weir structure, riprap, flap gates, pilot channels and access path according to plans. The overall objective for this project is to provide 1,250 acre-feet of stormwater detention storage by excavating the Aldine-Westfield Stormwater Detention Basin - Phase I.
