The goal of this project is to enhance the pedestrian network and expand the city's cycling network by providing critical east-west and north-south connections. Street corridors include: 5 Avenue N. from Stafford Drive N. to Mayor Magrath Drive N. and from 28 Street N. to 43 Street N.; and 13 Street from 26 Avenue N. to 16 Avenue S. and 16 Avenue S. from 13 Street S. to Scenic Drive S. Complete streets with protected cycling infrastructure along 5 Avenue N from Stafford Drive N to Mayor Magrath Drive N; Multi-use pathways along the north and south sides of 5 Avenue N from 28 Street N to 43 Street N; Complete streets with protected cycling infrastructure long 13 Street N from 26 Avenue N to 8 Avenue N.; Parallel bicycle boulevard along 12C Street N from 8 Avenue N to 2A Avenue N with wider sidewalks/shared spaces along 13 Street N from 8 Avenue N to 2A Avenue N along with various spot improvements along 13 Street N.; Raised multi-use pathway along the west side of 13 Street between 2A Avenue N and 2 Avenue S; Complete streets with protected cycling infrastructure along 13 Street S from 2 Avenue S to 16 Avenue S; and a New roundabout at the intersection of 13 Street S at 16 Avenue S with removal of high speed turn lanes at the intersection of 16 Avenue S and Scenic Drive S. TIMELINE: Project is preliminary. A functional planning study and preliminary design has been completed and adopted by the City Council. Schedules for detailed design, tender and construction are yet to be determined pending capital funding approvals (timelines unknown).
