The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools and equipment for the Walnut Grove Pump Station (S064) Abandonment Project. The work generally consists of the following: The abandonment of Walnut Grove Pump Station S064, including the removal of equipment, piping, structures, paving, and fencing. Buried structures at Pump Station S064 shall be removed to a minimum depth of 5 feet below grade per SASD Standards and Specifications Section 303.11. The abandonment in place of approximately 2,000 feet of existing 8-inch asbestos cement pipe force main per SASD Standards and Specifications Section 303.11. The removal and replacement of Manhole 208-140-1006, upstream of Walnut Grove Pump Station S064 for the connection to the new gravity sewer main. The installation of six 48-inch diameter precast reinforced manholes and approximately 2,000 feet of 16-inch diameter PVC gravity sewer main with a DR of 25 from Walnut Grove Pump Station S064 to the influent manhole at Walnut Grove Pump Station S146. Electrical as outlined in the drawings and specifications. All work associated with this contract shall include, but is not limited to, mobilization/demobilization, dewatering and excavations, sheeting, shoring, and bracing of excavations, erosion and sediment control, cleaning, debris removal and disposal, verification of pipe lengths, diameters, and slopes, installation of pipelines, permitting compliance, site restoration, and additional items or details that are required by the Contract Documents to be performed, placed, constructed or installed. Following a brief overview of the project, a site walk will be conducted immediately following the pre-bid conference. Attendance at the pre-bid conference and site walk is mandatory for contractors submitting a bid to be considered qualified and allow for completion of Site Visit Affidavit (Attachment D to the Bid Forms). Engineering and Construction Management representatives will be present for questions, and bidders will be permitted to collect photographs of the work areas. Award of this contract requires a valid California Contractor's Class A - General Engineering license. Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to the Treasurer of Sacramento County, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) ofthe aggregate sum ofthe bid. The successful bidder must be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the Sacramento Area Sewer District, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) ofthe contract price.
