Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Monroe, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a conference / convention center; for site work for a conference / convention center; water / sewer project; and pre-engineered storage facility.

Project Description of Work The project involves land development of 5.2 acres to include extension of private driveway, construction of convenience center to include installation of compactors, pre-fab buildings, electric utilities and site lighting, stormwater drainage and erosion control systems. The project is located at Union County Operations Center property, 4600 Goldmine Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Goldmine Convenience Center is being developed to serve as the new location in place of the existing Sun Valley Convenience Center located on Wesley Chapel Road in Union County. The new convenience center will continue to be operated by Union County and will offer the same services. The new site will include four (4) 35-cubic yard self-contained compactors, an E-waste building, carport, a site operator office with accompanying portable restroom, and recyclables containers. The site operator office, E-waste building, and carport will be relocated from the Sun Valley site to Goldmine. The site will be paved with heavy-duty asphalt and heavy-duty concrete and will provide two (2) parking spaces, including one ADA space. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office or at the Union County Procurement Division offices at 500 North Main Street, Suite 709, Monroe, North Carolina and Union County Public Works, Suite 500 on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bidders must have a license to do work as a general contractor in the State of North Carolina, as set forth under Article 1 of Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. The Contractor's North Carolina License number shall be designated on the outside of the envelope containing the bid. Bidders are required to comply with the non-collusion requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
