Renovation of a library in Rochester, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
TOTAL PROJECT ESTIMATE: $4,480,000.00 CONTRACT TYPE: This Project will proceed under 3 UNIT PRICE Contracts as follows: General Construction: $4,200,000.00 Plumbing: $100,000.00 Electrical: $180,000.00 PROJECT SUMMARY: This projects consists of improvements to the North Terrace at 100 Broad Steet and 115 South Avenue adjacent to the Rundel Library. Work items include, but are not limited to: CONTRACT #1 - GENERAL CONSTRUCTION Demolish existing concrete encased steel framing and concrete slabs within the north terrace, and remove off site. Provide new cast-in-place concrete framing and slabs, and new galvanized and painted steel framing and concrete slab for a new cantilevered overlook that extends over the Genesee River. Provide landscape features including a concrete wearing surface, new planters with granite curb, new plantings, a concrete runnel band, colored concrete bands to interpret the location of the historic canal, rail and subway paths, and a stepped River Theater leading to the overlook. Provide a new sloped walkway surface to provide handicapped access to the River Theater and overlook, new painted steel guardrail along the river edge of the terrace and overlook and handrails at the river theater steps. Provide concrete foundations for the proposed Public Art gateway sculpture and water table. CONTRACT #2 - PLUMBING Provide slab drains and piping at the new structural concrete slab supporting the terrace. Disconnect and reconnect piping from scuppers at Broad St. Bridge approach to the existing storm sewer system. Provide drains in the concrete wearing surface and inside new planters and pipe to the storm sewer system. Provide piping, valves, and controllers for the Public Art water table. CONTRACT #3 - ELECTRICAL Provide new conduit for communication cabling. Provide new street lighting at Broad Street and South Avenue and new accent lighting at the north terrace steps and sloped walkway. Temporarily disconnect, store, and re-set the existing color changing LED building lighting. Provide power (conduit, breakers, junction boxes, receptacles, wiring, etc. for Public Art lighting by others. REQUIREMENTS: This project contains Empire State Development (ESD) Office of Contractor and Supplier Diversity (OCSD) Participation Requirements for NYS Certified Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and Service-Disabled-Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises (SDVOBs) superseding all City of Rochester MWBE program percentages, forms and procedures.
