Mconsultants, inc. (ms) has been contracted by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to perform a superstructure inspection of the Rochester/Monaca Bridge over the Ohio River and the Northfolk Southern Railroad tracks connecting the Borough of Monaca and Rochester, Beaver County, PA. The inspection is anticipated to start April 8, 2019, and take approximately three weeks to complete. MS will require the services of a Contractor to provide rigging, maintenance & protection of traffic (MPT) during construction, Mag-Particle testing of steel and video inspection of underground drainage pipes. MS will receive separate sealed bids from qualified Contractors for the rigging, testing, pipe inspection and MPT services The Contractor must have at least 10 years of experience in providing rigging services on bridge projects of similar size and complexity. The Contractor must make available the following equipment in good working order along with properly trained, competent, equipment operators. - 60' under-bridge inspection crane with two rotating turrets, three-man minimum capacity bucket, power supply to the bucket, 60' minimum horizontal and 70' vertical reach, driver, operator and safety boat with operator. - Provide rigger assistance for moving and holding of ladders where necessary, to access the structure. - Traffic control consisting of warning signs, flags, cones, paddle boards, two-way radios and flaggers (consistent with the requirement of Publication 213). It is anticipated the contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder. MS reserves the right to reject any or all bids deemed not in conformance with the bid requirements.
