Demolition, site work and new construction of a civil project in Sussex, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.

This Project consists of removing three existing corrugated metal culverts and masonry headwalls, constructing an 96-foot long by 19-foot wide precast concrete arch system with headwalls and wing walls, relaying 62 feet of 12-inch water main, 24 feet of 18-inch storm sewer, 94 feet of railing, and associated flow bypassing, dewatering, erosion control, riprap, curb & gutter replacement, asphalt pavement replacement, and turf restoration. Bids shall be on the form provided for that purpose and according to the Bidding Requirements. All Work is included in a single prime contract. This is a unit price contract. The estimated quantities as indicated on the Bid Schedule are only for the purpose of determining the low bidder. Each Bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope, addressed to Casen Griffiths,Village Clerk, Village of Sussex, Wisconsin. Each sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as "Clover Drive Bridge Replacement" and the name and address of the bidder must be marked on the outside of the envelope. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to the Village Clerk, N64 W23760 Main Street, Sussex, Wisconsin 53089. All bids shall be submitted on the bidding forms provided in the Contract Documents. A Bidder's qualification statement must be delivered to Village of Sussex either prior to or with the Bid. Bid Security in the form of a certified check or satisfactory bid bond payable to the Village of Sussex, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders as a guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the contract bonds and certificate of insurance, within ten days after acceptance of the bid. Should the Bidder fail in meeting this provision, then the amount of the certified check or bid bond will be forfeited to the Village as liquidated damages. Neither Owner nor Engineer assumes any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete or unauthorized sets of Bidding Documents. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled opening of the bids without the consent of the Village of Sussex. Also, no bid can be resubmitted by a Bidder that has successfully withdrawn a bid prior to the bid opening. The Bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall be required to furnish payment and performance bonds acceptable to the Village of Sussex for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Construction time is of the essence. Completion delays are subject to liquidated damages. All work shall conform to the requirements of the International Building Code, the Village of Sussex Codes and Requirements, as well as OSHA standards. The letting and award of Work described herein is subject to the provisions of the Wisconsin Statues. The Village of Sussex reserves the right to reject any and/or all Bids, to waive or not waive any minor defects, irregularities or informalities that may be found in the Bids received and to accept any Bid that is in the best interest of the Village of Sussex.
